Security Assistant (Entry Level) -Top Secret
Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Security Assistant (Entry Level). You will be supporting a Federal Law Enforcement client requires contracted support to address the growing demand for personnel security across multiple key programs and operations to include background investigations and suitability and security clearance determinations. To provide adjudication analysis and recommendations, grant and suspend clearances, and deliver investigative results to other government agencies, our client must conduct thorough and expeditious background investigations (BIs).
As a Security Assistant you will be a vital part of a dynamic team of Personnel Security Specialists and Security Assistants working to ensure national security through collaboration and innovation by supporting background investigations, continuous vetting, and periodic reinvestigations of individuals, including but not limited to applicants, employees, contractors, and task force officers. Responsibilities:
- Review BI requests in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide required information to the government.
- Conduct intake records check in accordance with client SOPs and intelligence community practices.
- Review the preliminary processing checklist for each candidate to ensure completeness and readiness for intake.
- Set leads for incoming Background Investigations (BIs) using Federal Personnel Vetting Standards, Field Office Coverage Guides, and Client SOPs.
- Address leads for incoming Reports of Investigation (ROIs), ensuring proper grammar and formatting when approved.
- Complete and submit BI cases and alerts to the government for review.
- Discontinue BI cases when required and approved, documenting actions appropriately.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have an active Top Secret Clearance, and the ability to obtain an initial full-field single background investigation (SSBIs)
- Education: Bachelor's (or Associate's w/ 4 years of relevant experience*)
- 2 years of experience in the personnel security investigative or investigative analyst field, conducting and interpreting database checks and credit reports.
- Experience performing routine office administrative support functions.
- Demonstrated analytical ability to critically review and analyze various types of incoming material and investigative reports to discern potential security vulnerabilities and to identify viable investigative leads.
