Work Arrangement

This is an on-site position. It will require travel throughout San Bernardino, Kern, and San Diego Counties and occasional travel to other locations as required. Work-hour schedules are flexible, based on mission demands.

Job Overview

The Weapons/Product QA Support Senior is responsible for overseeing quality assurance activities related to weapons or products within a specific industry. They ensure that all products meet the required standards and specifications, conducting inspections, tests, and evaluations to identify any defects or issues. They develop and implement quality control plans, and shall support the Government by interfacing with AFTC weapons & munitions departments to facilitate timely and accurate test support.

Essential Functions
  • Review Prime Weapon System Contractor and associated Contractors-developed loading procedures and provide feedback to government personnel for consideration.
  • Coordination of weapon and munitions logistics, including equipment, personnel, and schedules to support weapon test and training activities.
  • Assist the PM by supporting requests for assistance from the users per TO-00-25-107, which directs the program to respond to technical and depot assistance for weapons systems.
  • Manage the inspection, test, and assembly of weapons to support training, test of integrated weapon systems, and integration of systems new to MQ-9, as well as other required platforms
  • Interface with AF and other service weapons and munitions departments as well as Range Control Centers and Explosive Safety departments to facilitate timely and accurate test support.
  • Coordinate with the PM on the availability of weapon mission kits for production and sustainment.
  • Assist the Government by providing recommendations and hands-on assistance for development and integration of new weapons capability.
  • Support the PM by reviewing GA-ASI-developed loading procedures. The Contractor shall provide feedback to government personnel for consideration.
  • Provide PM support for TPWG by providing advisory assistance for the development of weapons loading requirements.
  • Author draft documentation for weapon assembly, test methods, and loading procedures and monitoring the status of TCTOs and TO development, certification, and verification.
  • Review and physically verifying contractor and weapon/pod vendor-developed assembly, inspection and test, and load procedures, providing feedback to government personnel for development of technical orders.
  • Support requests for assistance from system users in response to requests for technical and depot assistance for weapons systems.
  • Provide feedback to program managers to include, but not limited to, risks, concerns, recommendations for future needs of munitions and weapon systems, etc., for government consideration.
  • Support conferences and meetings by providing recommendations relating to the implementation of approved enhancements and improvements for government consideration
  • Account manager for munitions issued to the 645 AESG and AFLCMC/WII DET joint, developmental test munitions custody account.
  • Manage UAS munitions allocations through standard and non-standard forecasting procedures, allocation transfers, and out-of-cycle requests.
  • Alternate communications security (COMSEC) account custodian, responsible for documenting the location and identity of all COMSEC items.
  • Responsible for loading COMSEC material into secure communication devices on UAS platforms, missiles, and guided bomb unit guidance sections via simple key loading (SKL) or other devices while maintaining positive control of both COMSEC and classified material.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies
  • Working experience in fields such as munitions and weapon systems assembly, inspection, test, and maintenance, quality control, quality inspection, production planning, and research and engineering, that provided:
    • Familiarity with weapon integration and weapon system product assurance.
    • Munitions management or process knowledge and skill.
    • Ability to interpret and apply contract requirements and engineering specifications.
    • Skill in establishing professional relationships, communicating and interacting with internal and external offices and agencies.
  • Additional experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge in monitoring and managing weapon system development and integration.
  • Working knowledge of MQ-9 weapons systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of GCS and ground support equipment preferred.
  • Must be proficient in the MS Office productivity suite of software

Education / Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology Required
  • Master's Degree Engineering from a college or university with an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology Preferred.

Experience
  • 10 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD with a Bachelors Degree (Master's degree can be substituted for some years of experience)
  • 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, five (5) of which must be in the DoD in place of a degree.

Security Clearance
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.


AEVEX provides a reasonable range of compensation. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific location. The range of starting pay for this position is for the listed location only.

Salary Range

$115,000 - $120,000 USD
