About this position: iWorks Corporation is seeking a Network Engineering Support Specialist to support the design, implementation, and optimization of secure network infrastructure within a AWS cloud-based NIPR environment. This role involves hands-on work with network architecture, connectivity, security controls, and performance tuning in a classified setting.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $165,000 - commens urate with t he candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
  • Design and implement secure, scalable network architecture within AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Configure and troubleshoot connectivity across cloud and hybrid environments
  • Deploy and manage network security controls such as firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
  • Monitor and optimize network performance using AWS-native and third-party tools
  • Provide infrastructure support including upgrades, patching, and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and protocols (e.g., NIST, FISMA)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical systems
  • Document network configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions
  • Support Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) development and automation using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation

  • Required Education/Qualifications:
    • Security Clearance: Top Secret security clearance fully adjudicated .
    • Certifications: Security+ certification (CompTIA)
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related field
    • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support
    • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services (e.g., VPC, Transit Gateway, Route 53, Direct Connect)
    • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies
    • Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, SolarWinds, Wireshark)
    • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) and automation tools


    Preferred Qualifications:
    • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Solutions Architect)
    • Experience supporting federal agencies or working in classified environments
    • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
    • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills
