About this position: iWorks Corporation is seeking a Lead Engineering Support Specialist to provide strategic technical leadership for infrastructure implementation and optimization supporting our client's secure operations. This role involves hands-on expertis e in architecture design, performance tuning, and team guidance within a classified AWS cloud-based environment.
Salary Range: $145,000 - $190, 000 per year - commensur ate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Lead infrastructure implementation projects with technical authority and oversight. Design and review secure, scalable architecture solutions aligned with mission needs. Make informed technical decisions and set direction for engineering efforts. Establish and enforce best practices across infrastructure and development teams. Develop and implement performance optimization strategies for systems and networks. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering team members. Support compliance with federal cybersecurity and operational standards. Contribute to DevSecOps strategy and integration across platforms. Assist in planning and executing platform maintenance and system upgrades. Ensure AWS cloud infrastructure is properly architected, secured, and optimized .

Required Education/Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: Top Secret security clearance fully adjudicated .
- Certifications: Security+ certification (CompTIA)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems architecture, or related roles
- Proven experience leading technical teams and driving engineering strategy
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, AWS cloud infrastructure, and networking
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools and methodologies
- Experience with performance tuning and infrastructure optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications such as CISSP, AWS/Azure Solutions Architect, or PMP
- Experience supporting federal agencies or working in classified environments
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) and automation tools
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence technical direction
