About this position: iWorks Corporation is seeking an AWS Engineering Support Specialist to support cloud infrastructure development and optimization efforts within a secure NIPR environment. This role involves implementing security controls, enhancing systems, and contributing to automation and Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) initiatives.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000 - commensurate with the candidate's skills, experience, location, and qualifications.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Develop and maintain secure cloud infrastructure using AWS services Implement and manage security controls to ensure compliance with federal standards Support system enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance activities Contribute to infrastructure automation and DevSecOps pipeline integration Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation Optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align cloud solutions with mission objectives Ensure operational stability during platform maintenance and system updates

Required Education/Qualifications:
- Security Clearance: Top Secret security clearance fully adjudicated .
- Certifications: Security+ certification (CompTIA)
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science , Engineering, or related field
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in AWS cloud engineering or infrastructure support
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and automation tools
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and federal compliance frameworks
Preferred Qualifications:
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator)
- Experience supporting federal agencies or working in classified environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
