We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator/Engineer to support the ELSYS Task Order under the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). This role is embedded within the TGS team and supports the IT and Cyber Security Division at the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) in China Lake. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems and a strong understanding of system integration, automation, and cybersecurity compliance in DoD environments. All candidates must have an active Secret Clearance.
Linux Systems Administration & Integration:
- Build, configure, and maintain RHEL 8 systems across enterprise and lab environments.
- Deploy and manage Ansible scripts to automate system configuration and deployment.
- Configure and maintain network-attached storage (NAS) solutions such as NFS and SMB.
- Integrate RHEL systems into Windows domains for centralized management.
- Perform system upgrades from older RHEL versions, ensuring compatibility with engineering software.
- Apply system hardening techniques to meet cybersecurity requirements.
- Patch and manage RHEL/Linux repositories to ensure systems remain secure and compliant.
- Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications to ensure proper integration with the RHEL/Linux OS.
Security & Compliance:
- Implement secure configurations in accordance with DoD cybersecurity standards and STIGs.
- Maintain documentation to support audit readiness and compliance reporting.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems meet RMF and other security frameworks.
- Team Collaboration & Support
- Work alongside senior engineers and system administrators to support infrastructure modernization.
- Participate in knowledge sharing and contribute to the development of technical documentation.
- Assist with stakeholder engagement by translating technical requirements into actionable tasks.
