MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Chemical, Biological and Radiological ( CBR) Technician to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is an onsite position .

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assist the Government Subject Matter Expert and/ or the assigned contractor Chemical Biological and Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Technician in: conducting Collective Protection System (CPS), CB Detection, Decontamination, Joint Biological Agent Identification and Diagnostic System (JBAIDS), eCPC/VBSS, and RADIAC assessments during CBR Readiness Assist Visits (RAVs) onboard deploying ships
- Ensure ship readiness for deployment by providing CBRN system training to crew, offering remote support for CBRN issues, and updating equipment status 30 days after RAV
- Assist in troubleshooting Improved Point Detection System Lifecycle Replacement (IPDSLR) units, retrieving data from ships, maintaining records of IPDS-LR lab functions, maintaining inventories and shipping documents of all IPDS-LR detection units repaired and shipped to/from lab
- Assist the Radiological Mobile Survey and Remediation Team (RSMRT) lead and the assigned contractor CBRN Technician to complete shipboard Radiological Containment (RADCON) assessments during the RAV
- Update the ship's RADCON book and conduct Fleet Contamination Technician training
- Travel up to 30% of the time to attend drills in Everett, Washington, Hawaii, and/or Japan
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in shipboard systems maintenance, test and evaluation, field support and training
- 3+ years of experience of applicable professional experience with operations and repair of Navy CBRN equipment with emphasis on detection, decontamination, and collective protection
- Experience with damage control or a similar role on a Navy ship
- Working knowledge of shipboard protocol and Naval Waterfront Maintenance Community
Preferred Qualifications:
- United States Coast Guard (USCG) and Military Sealift command (MSC) shipboard experience
- Damage Control, VBSS, or EOD experience preferred
- Training certifications or equivalent experience in the following preferred: forklift driver, web-based inventory management (CMRPO), HAZMAT shipping, CBRD shipboard operations, radiation material and transportation (RAM), Assistant Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO)
- General Knowledge of shipboard AIT work desired Good written and oral communication skills
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to be able to walk reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
- Ability to be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
