Job Responsibilities
Trace Systems is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Network Engineer to architect, implement, and manage networking infrastructure within the Government Community Cloud (GCC) High environment. This position reports directly to the COO/CIO and will serve as a key technical leader, ensuring the design, deployment, and optimization of a secure, hybrid cloud environment that integrates seamlessly with on-premises systems. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and compliance awareness to safeguard and optimize mission-critical systems.

Trace Systems is seeking a highly skilled Lead Cloud Network Engineer to architect, implement, and manage networking infrastructure within the Government Community Cloud (GCC) High environment. This position reports directly to the COO/CIO and will serve as a key technical leader, ensuring the design, deployment, and optimization of a secure, hybrid cloud environment that integrates seamlessly with on-premises systems. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and compliance awareness to safeguard and optimize mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage a secure hybrid cloud network infrastructure, ensuring interoperability between on-premises systems and Microsoft Azure within GCC High.
- Provision and administer Azure resources (virtual machines, storage accounts, networks) in accordance with GCC High standards.
- Configure and maintain virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups.
- Automate network administration tasks leveraging scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
- Monitor, analyze, and optimize network performance, resolving complex issues to maintain high availability and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including configurations, backup schedules, and disaster recovery plans.
- Prepare and deliver regular reports with actionable recommendations for system and process improvements.
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to support application deployments, integrations, and cloud-native initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with GCC High requirements, CMMC practices, and data protection standards for Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and other sensitive data.
Minimum Qualifications
- Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance .
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, with a strong focus on cloud and network engineering.
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification.
- CCDP (Cisco Certified Design Professional).
- CCNP Enterprise certification.
- Proven experience architecting and managing hybrid and multi-cloud networking environments.
- Strong problem-solving ability with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across technical and leadership teams.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and related tools strongly preferred.
Desired Qualification
- CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator).
- CCNA DevNet certification.
- Advanced expertise with Azure networking services and architecture.
- Proficiency with routing, switching, and core network protocols.
- Experience managing firewalls, VPNs, and other security controls.
- Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates).
Education
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
