Duties

As a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0346-15 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the Logistics Sustainment Division.
  • Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
  • Represents USTRANSCOM with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
  • Serve as USTRANSCOM's primary subject matter expert to establish, refine, and implement logistical studies for the purpose of achieving end to end distribution management/systems within the DoD.
  • Serve as the expert and point of contact to direct the development, implementation, and marketing of state-of-the-art business practices for USTRANSCOM's Logistics Sustainment Division.
  • Managing Distribution Networks, conducting and coordinating Lane validations across all Global Combatant Commands, and managing Theatre Distribution Plans.
  • Provides Time Definite Delivery standards as directed by OSD measuring Logistics Response Time by each segment in the process to ensure materiel moves are within established standards.
  • Serves as execution lead for In-Transit Visibility (ITV) for the department, working with all Services and Agencies to track global movements of DoD cargo and personnel applying new technology.
  • Acts as the Global Distribution & Transportation Product Support Provider supporting F-35 Strike-Fighter air vehicle and propulsion operations for all participants.
  • Integrates sustainment functions supporting current operations activities and exercise planning.

  • Travel and relocation expenses, if approved, will be paid IAW JTR and AFMAN 36-606
Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Directs operations, distribution and logistics management, and safety and security regulations.
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the functions of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
  • Makes critical independent decisions and presents those decisions both orally and in writing to higher management.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
