Aircraft Mechanic III - NDI

JOB SUMMARY:

The Aircraft Mechanic III - Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) is responsible for the inspection of aerospace weapon system components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS :

• No less than five (5) years' of general experience in maintaining aircraft.
• Solid, demonstrated ability to work well with others, especially within small, close workforce, good interpersonal communication skills are highly desired.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Identifies, locates, and measures hidden and subsurface flaws, corrosion, and separation in bonded and honeycomb structures; the integrity of welds; precision dimensional and volume measurements; and the hardness of materials.
• Interprets test indications and makes final determination of product as serviceable, repairable, or condemned.
• Sets up and operates equipment and makes initial instrument settings following guidelines.
• Uses appropriate type of ultrasonic or eddy current instrument and search unit to detect and interpret the relevancy of surface and subsurface flaws in parts.
• Manipulates transducer or probe over surface of item, simultaneously watching test equipment output for defect indicators.
• All other maintenance or mechanical task as assigned by a supervisor.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Perform other related duties, as required.

• Lifting/Moving Requirements - up to 50 pounds
