JOB SUMMARY:

The Aircraft Mechanic II - Aircrew Flight Equipment (AFE) is responsible for the repair and maintenance of aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. The Aircraft Mechanic II shall apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
  • No less than five (5) years' of general experience in maintaining aircraft.
  • Solid, demonstrated ability to work well with others, especially within small, close workforce, good interpersonal communication skills are highly desired.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen, be able to acquire and maintain any and all necessary security clearances and be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Must perform the following functions on Advanced Concept Ejection Seat (ACES II) equipped Aircraft:
    • Repack, remove, inspect, clean, test, and repair
  • Maintain, repair, inspect and test all normal or otherwise required work related to the aircraft.
  • Ability to remove explosive panels, Detonation Transfer Assembly (DTA), Shielded Mild Detonating Cord (SMDC), and Flexible Linear Shape Charge (FLSC) when required.
  • Responsible for the overall mechanical duties of the contract.
  • All other maintenance or mechanical task as assigned by a supervisor.


NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

  • Perform other related duties, as required.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Often - Climbing, Stooping, Kneeling, Reaching, Standing, Sitting, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Talking, Hearing, Seeing
  • Lifting/Moving Requirements - up to 50 pounds


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Generally works in and outside of environmentally controlled work areas.
  • Potential exposure to harsh or hazardous compounds and chemicals.
  • Extreme weather conditions maybe encountered.
  • Loud noises.
