Credence has an immediate need for a Senior ETL and Database to support large-scale digital modernization efforts for mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) systems with massive national impact. This role serves as a Sustainment Lead/SME, providing expert-level knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management and leading complex data engineering initiatives. The developer will design, build, and optimize ETL pipelines, develop database solutions for large-scale DBMS environments, and ensure high availability, performance, and compliance with DoD standards. Candidates should have extensive experience in ETL development, database architecture, and sustainment of enterprise applications, as well as the ability to provide technical direction to teams. This position is based in Credence's corporate offices located in Tyson's Corner in McLean, VA or Dayton OH. This role is slated to kick off in Sept 2025.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
- Design, build, and maintain complex ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, legacy systems, flat files) into enterprise data repositories. Support both batch and real-time data flows.
- Develop, enhance, and sustain applications on large-scale DBMS platforms (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL). Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, and partitioning for performance and scalability.
- Serve as Sustainment Lead/SME, providing expert knowledge of sustainment lifecycle management. Oversee issue resolution, patching, performance improvements, and long-term maintainability.
- Analyze functional business applications (finance, logistics, personnel, contracts, etc.) and design scalable data models, block diagrams, and flowcharts that support modernization objectives.
- Translate detailed designs into software solutions, including coding, testing, debugging, and refining database-driven applications.
- Develop and support APIs to integrate with modern platforms, including low-code/no-code applications within hybrid architectures.
- Prepare and maintain program-level and user-level documentation, ensuring compliance with IA, QA, and CM procedures. Provide regular reports on sustainment status and modernization progress.
- Provide technical direction to programmers and junior developers, ensuring deadlines are met and quality standards are maintained.
- Enhance software and database processes to reduce operating time, improve efficiency, and support mission readiness.
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field with 10+ years of relevant experience in ETL, database development, or data engineering.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and optimizing ETL pipelines using scripting, SQL, and enterprise ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Pentaho, or similar).
- Expert-level proficiency with large-scale DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.), including schema design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience in sustainment lifecycle management activities for large-scale programs and applications.
- Hands-on experience developing data APIs and supporting integration with low-code/no-code platforms.
- Experience in Agile and hybrid development environments, supporting iterative delivery and sustainment.
- Must possess an IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance, a Secret clearance preferred.
- Relevant certifications in ETL, database, or data engineering (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft SQL Server, Informatica Certified Developer, AWS Data Analytics Specialty, Security+).
- Strong problem-solving ability, knowledge of computer equipment capacity and limitations, and ability to develop complex software to meet design objectives.
