Credence has an upcoming need for a Senior Ab Initio Engineer/Programmer to support large-scale digital modernization efforts for mission-critical Department of Defense (DoD) systems with massive national impact. This role will serve as a Lead/SME, applying expert-level knowledge of sustainment life-cycle management to design, build, and optimize Ab Initio ETL solutions. The developer will lead the architecture, development, and sustainment of data integration pipelines, ensuring reliability, scalability, and compliance with DoD standards. Responsibilities include providing technical direction to teams, analyzing requirements, designing robust solutions, and supporting long-term sustainment strategies This position is based in Credence's corporate offices located in Tyson's Corner in McLean, VA or Dayton OH. This role is slated to kick off in Sept 2025.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below

  • Serve as a SME/Lead, guiding sustainment life-cycle management activities across Ab Initio ETL solutions and related applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain complex ETL workflows using Ab Initio GDE, Conduct>IT, and Express>IT, supporting mission-critical data movement and transformation.
  • Develop block diagrams, flowcharts, and data models to translate functional business applications into technical ETL solutions.
  • Enhance ETL processes to improve efficiency, reduce run times, and support large-scale data operations.
  • Build ETL pipelines that integrate data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, legacy systems, flat files) into enterprise systems or data warehouses.
  • Provide program- and user-level documentation; ensure solutions meet Information Assurance (IA), Quality Assurance (QA), and Change Management (CM) standards.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to developers, ensuring deliverables align with design objectives and project deadlines.
  • Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and validation to ensure ETL solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Partner with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to evaluate feasibility of future projects and align solutions with modernization objectives
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with 10+ years of relevant experience, including ETL and data integration.
  • Advanced experience with Ab Initio ETL tools (GDE, Conduct>IT, Express>IT, EME) and developing large-scale data integration workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with DBMS platforms (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
  • Expert-level experience with sustainment life-cycle management activities for enterprise-scale applications.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple heterogeneous systems using Ab Initio connectors and APIs.
  • Must possess an IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive clearance; Secret clearance preferred.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant ETL/Ab Initio certifications or DoD 8570 certifications (e.g., Security+).
  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills, ability to provide technical direction, and proven success in modernizing and sustaining enterprise ETL systems.

  • Active Public Trust /Secret Clearance preferred.
