Piper Companies is searching for a Linux System Engineer to work for a leader in the technology space. The Linux System Engineer supports mission-critical systems and requires a strong background in enterprise Linux environments, virtualization, and cybersecurity compliance.
Responsibilities of the Linux System Engineer include:
· Administer and maintain Enterprise Linux systems (preferably RHEL)
· Develop and maintain scripts for automation and system management
· Build, configure, and manage virtual servers
· Support and troubleshoot Docker/Kubernetes environments
· Assist with networking tasks including switching, subnets, VLANs, and storage
· Monitor and analyze system logs using Splunk
· Implement and maintain NIST 800-53 security controls
· Ensure systems meet DoD cybersecurity compliance standards
Qualifications for the Linux System Engineer include:
· Must be eligible to hold an active TS/SCI CI Poly clearance.
· Experience with containerization and orchestration tools
· Strong understanding of networking concepts
· Familiarity with Splunk for system monitoring and log analysis
Compensation for the Linux System Engineer includes:
· Total compensation is $145,000 - $155,000 annually
· Comprehensive benefit: Medical, Dental, Vison, 401k, PTO, holidays, sick leave as required by law
· Onsite 5 days a week in Durham, NC or Herndon, VA
