As the Sr. Network Engineer, the individual will lead the engineering and implementation of the networking equipment supporting the customers' solution. In this role, the Sr. Engineer will support the development, configuration, testing, and evaluation of the networking environment used to secure the customers' classified data and networks. The successful candidate will collaborate with other network and systems engineers, coordinate with customer site personnel for troubleshooting and issue resolution, work individually and as a member of a team. implement, configure and troubleshoot networking hardware and software components. The candidate will install, configure and troubleshoot security appliances and any applications necessary to meet DoD and NSA requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Develops, installs, and configures complex, secure communications network solutions in both government and commercial, classified and unclassified environments
  • Implements, configures and troubleshoots networking hardware and software components.
  • Installs, configures and troubleshoots security appliances and any applications necessary to meet DoD and NSA requirements
  • Configures network hardware and software components, and integrates with systems to meet NSA CSfC, NIAP, DoD and customer requirements
  • Writes standardized system documentation, including configuration guides, test procedures, test results, and training materials
  • Provides onsite training to technical and non-technical users on the daily use, management, and troubleshooting of the solution after installation
  • Collaborates with other operations departments to design approved infrastructure
  • Serves as the escalation contact during large outages for Tier 2, Tier 3, and engineering support
  • Authors network Engineering Design Packages, including detailed implementation project plans and procedures
  • Configures network, software, and hardware components to meet NSA CSfC, NIAP, and DoD requirements
  • Performs network design and systems integration
  • Designs, develops, implements, tests and maintains complex secure communications networks.
  • Configures and manages PKI Certificate Authorities for CSfC solutions
  • Configures Certificate Authority (ISC CertAgent/MS Windows Server/Red Hat Certificate systems)
  • Configures firewalls, Intrusion Prevention/Detection systems, vpn gateways, wireless controllers from various vendors (e.g., Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, SonicWALL, Juniper)
  • Documents configuration, test procedure, results, and training materials
  • Prepares test reports and configuration documentation according to customer standards
  • Provides customer on-site training on solution daily use, management, and troubleshooting
  • Provides customer on-site solution installation and integration
  • Manages contractors and vendors during the implementation phase
  • Identifies and recommends hardware and support solutions based on research and analysis of new technologies, interfacing with customers and vendors
  • Provides technical expertise to sales engineering teams during complex network developments
  • Serves as Integrator for various contracts within the government and commercial spaces
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of Seven (7) years relevant experience working with network security platforms in a service provider environment
  • 5 or more years of experience with commercial Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and encryption algorithms
  • Current Secret Security Clearance with the ability to maintain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Professional level CISCO certification,, CCNP or Higher
  • Possess Security+ Certification
  • Experience with configuring security devices and appliances, secure information, and event management software
  • Possess the flexibility to work in both a team environment as well as independently
  • Ability to communicate with technical and business staff alike.
  • Knowledge of commonly used ports and protocols
  • Ability to develop technical documentation
  • Ability to review and develop configuration guides and other customer training deliverables

Preferred Qualifications/Education and Experience.
  • Professional level certification such as CISCO CCIE
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions
