As an EMC Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring mission success for NASA Spaceflight Programs. From test planning to analysis, your work will directly impact the safety and reliability of systems that reach beyond our planet.
🔧 What You’ll Do
Provide systems-level EMC/EMI support to NASA Spaceflight Programs.
Lead EMC analysis, test planning, and circuit test/analysis.
Review and evaluate data/waivers on:
Electromagnetic interference (EMI)
Electrostatic discharge
Grounding, bonding, isolation, and wiring integrity
Corona effects
Prepare reports, technical documentation, and schedules for design reviews and team meetings.
Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and NASA stakeholders to ensure compliance with mission requirements.
🎓 What You’ll Bring
Education (ABET-Accredited Preferred):
Ph.D. + 14 years of experience, OR
Master’s + 18 years of experience, OR
Bachelor’s + 20 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
Experience & Skills:
Proven expertise in EMC analysis and EMC test planning/procedures for flight or space hardware.
Hands-on background in critical circuit test/analysis.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-461/-462 standards.
Proficiency with PC-based engineering tools.
Experience with ISS hardware and payloads a plus.
Other Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship (non-negotiable for NASA access).
STAR ID required for entry to Marshall Space Flight Center.

📍 Work Environment & Schedule
Standard schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Minimal overtime (up to 10%) as needed to meet project milestones.
Up to 15% domestic travel may be required.
Primarily office and laboratory-based, with extended desk/meeting time.
