Summit Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly qualified Information Assurance Subject Matter Expert (IA SME) to serve as Key Personnel supporting a federal program. The IA SME will provide expert guidance on all matters related to information assurance, ensuring compliance with federal security requirements and alignment with program objectives. This position plays a critical role in supporting the Program Manager (PM), serving as the backup to the Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and ensuring IA policies and practices are consistently applied across the program. This position will be an on-site role at the designated primary location, five (5) days a week, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Government. For this instance it will be in Manassas, VA. You must have a DoD Top Secret Clearance. This is for a proposal that is in its early stages and this contract has not been awarded yet.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to the Program Manager (PM) on all security-related matters.
Maintain a separate reporting chain from the operations team to ensure independence and integrity of IA activities.
Coordinate IA activities internally within the contractor team and externally with other team members and Government stakeholders.
Act as backup to the ISSO, maintaining the same level of access and responsibilities, and provide full coverage during ISSO absences.
Assume all ISSO duties and responsibilities in the event of resignation until a replacement is designated and approved by the GSA PM.
Oversee and support the transition of a new ISSO, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity of IA responsibilities.
Provide technical and policy guidance to ensure security compliance for all program systems and deliverables.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience providing Information Assurance support for full lifecycle IT projects of similar scope, scale, and technologies.
Demonstrated expertise in IA policy, accreditation, risk management, and compliance in a federal contracting environment.
Strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills with proven ability to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience serving in ISSO/IA roles in support of Federal programs is highly desirable.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related discipline.
In lieu of a degree, an additional 5 years of IA accreditation and support experience may be substituted.
Current CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent ANSI-accredited certification.
Clearance Requirements
Must have a DoD Top Secret Clearance as required by the contract.
