Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Network - Network Engineer III (25-394) to join our team of talented and diverse professionals. Located in Colorado Springs, CO, this position plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not include relocation support and demands on-site work without remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a core element of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively control networked sensors and weapon systems to accomplish global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, delivering an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations worldwide and locally to enhance overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a vital component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.

The candidate will serve as a primary Network Engineer supporting the C2BMC Program. They will be responsible for learning, planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the C2BMC network at operational sites, as well as assisting as needed. The candidate will also need to travel to remote locations to perform network installations, troubleshoot issues, and provide status updates to Program personnel.

Essential Functions:

• Must be an effective communicator with excellent writing and presentation skills using Microsoft Office products, especially PowerPoint and Visio
• Must thrive and do your best work in a collaborative and agile environment

Basic Qualifications:

Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable.

• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering, Network Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain Top Secret security clearance
• Applicants must have a current active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA, etc.), which is required to start
• Willingness and ability to travel to alternative work locations, such as Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, Europe, etc., to perform job duties like deployment are required
• Must possess knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies
• Must understand the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF
• Must possess network traffic analysis, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills
• Must have firewall knowledge of:
  • Juniper
  • Fortinet
  • Palo Alto systems
• Must know UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs
• Must understand multi-vendor switching, routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

• A current and active in-scope DoD-issued Top Secret security clearance at the time of application is highly preferred

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
