Northrop Grumman Space Systems-Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Software Engineer - (RA) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, plays a crucial role in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not offer relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a vital part of the Missile Defense System. It provides an essential operational platform that allows the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and tactical levels to systematically plan missile defense operations, monitor battle progress, and actively manage networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals.
C2BMC offers a layered missile defense capability, providing an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It functions as a force multiplier by connecting, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations both worldwide and locally to improve overall performance. Additionally, C2BMC is a key component of all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the missile defense system's current and future capabilities.
This position is for a Software Engineer supporting the C2BMC program. The candidate will be responsible for developing software in Java.

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $121,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for analyzing and providing technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user assistance
- Designs, codes, maintains, debugs, and configures enterprise software applications and products
- Develops or modifies operating system applications based on specifications
- Assists with designing, coding, benchmarking, debugging, and documenting programs
- Will collaborates with other system support teams to resolve issues, establish standards, and enhance the overall system efficiency
- Will understand fundamental software practices, including coding standards and configuration management
Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline; or 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
- Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs
- Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
- Experience in software engineering and development with Java/JEE
- Familiar with developing enterprise applications using Java
- Familiar with Java foundation classes and toolkits
- Knowledge of developing software for Unix/Linux systems
- Experience working as part of an Agile team and understanding of Agile methodology
- Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
- Applicants must possess strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
