Help
Monitors ongoing operation of network systems to ensure hardware and software are functioning properly and that operational standards are met. Uses established computer techniques to identify and promptly resolve network-related network-related problems within the organization. Troubleshoots hardware, software, Wide Area Network (WAN), and Local Area Network (LAN) problems in coordination with EIT Service Center and the IT Flight. Determines whether hardware repair with vendor support or local assets are needed. Identifies and determines corrective action to be taken in case of individual job failures not covered by standard procedures. Resolves partial system failures (software or hardware-related) by providing for revised applications of system operation capabilities, which involves working through or around the problems with reduced capacity and readjusting the system when full operating configuration is resolved. Participates with application programmers and operations personnel to identify problems with applications, operating systems, or hardware that are difficult to pinpoint. Suggests methods for sequencing and software/hardware operating configuration to accept new requirements and resolve processing malfunctions. Installs, upgrades, and maintains software. Loads appropriate printer drivers and answers technical questions from customers. Assists users in preparing computer hardware/connectivity service requests. Assists in the installation and testing of system releases and computer upgrades. Assists in making recommendations for system improvements. Explains system capabilities, limitations, and output variations to users. Promotes network security by ensuring compliance with established security plans, policies, and standards. Plans and implements security plans, procedures, and training to comply with Mission Support, Space Force, and Department of Defense standards. Accomplishes risk analyses, accreditation, and certification packages. Assists Services and FSS activity managers in the development of their individual PCI Compliance security policies. Disseminates information and ensures computer security practices are adhered to by all functional areas.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have a working knowledge of computer hardware and/or software and associated equipment, configurations and interconnecting components used to activate, control, and monitor computer equipment, computer networks and network administration. Knowledge of information processing sequences, controls, and procedures. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software. Ability to analyze computer software and/or hardware problems and develop economical solutions. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and/or in writing and ability to train users. Basic knowledge of cloud database management systems with a fundamental understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud Database Management and Microsoft 365 Applications. Ability to manipulate, manage, and secure CISCO networks, server brocades, and commercial networks.

Education

- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- Must be able to successfully complete and maintain a Secret/Tier3 Background Investigation.
- This position requires IA certification IAW DoD 8570-01-M within six months from date of hire.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security + certification within twelve months from date of hire.
