Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a talented software development team focused on building mission-critical solutions. This is a hybrid role based in Irvine, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership experience, and the ability to align engineering efforts with business and product goals. The role doesn't require a clearance, but one is preferred.

Salary Range: $140,000-$200,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities for the Software Engineering Manager include:
- Oversee engineering resource management including team capacity, velocity, and alignment with product roadmap milestones.
- Manage on-call schedules and incident response protocols.
- Participate in hiring and team growth planning.
- Dedicate up to 10 hours/week to hands-on coding.
- Mentor team members and support career development.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to promote proactive architecture across products.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners and communicate plans clearly.
- Work closely with Product Managers on requirements and prioritization.
- Contribute to engineering and product documentation.
- Host post-mortems and implement corrective actions.
Required Qualifications for the Software Engineering Manager include:
- Ability to code and review code in various programming languages.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and software development life cycles.
- Strong technical background in backend, frontend, and QA practices.
- Proven experience managing software engineering teams.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
