Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing software development team focused on building scalable, secure, and mission-critical applications. This hybrid role blends hands-on coding, strategic planning, and team leadership across backend and frontend engineering groups. You'll work closely with product and engineering leadership to align technology with business goals and drive innovation. This position will be located in Southern California (preferred), Washington D.C., Arvada, CO, or Seattle, WA. Candidates must hold an active TS/SCI.

- Oversee engineering resource management, balancing team capacity and velocity to meet product roadmap milestones.
- Manage on-call schedules and incident response protocols to ensure operational resilience.
- Actively participate in hiring and team growth planning.
- Dedicate up to 10 hours per week to coding to stay connected with technical challenges.
- Mentor team members and support career development through coaching and advancement opportunities.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders to identify architectural gaps and promote cross-team alignment.
- Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders, driving transparency and accountability.
- Partner with Product Managers to define requirements and prioritize development efforts.
- Contribute to engineering and product documentation.
- Host post-mortems and implement corrective actions to improve team performance.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong organizational skills.

Compensation for the Software Engineer Manager include:
- Salary Range: $140,000-200,000 **depending on experience**
- Full Benefits: Cigna Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick Leave if required by law, and Holidays
