Position: Business Data Analyst
Location: Greater Boston, MA (Remote, EST Required)

Job Description:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Business Data Analyst to join their team. This role is critical in ensuring accurate data management, maintaining visibility into IT systems, and supporting business operations through actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB administration, and the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders. This position will play a key role in ensuring operational efficiency, minimizing risks, and driving improvements in data quality and process optimization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
• Manage master data, including creation, updates, and deletion.
• Monitor data quality, identify issues, and remove corrupt or inaccurate records.
• Define, document, and implement new data collection and analysis processes.
• Develop reports, charts, graphs, and presentations to share findings with business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into clear, non-technical language for wider audiences.
• Evaluate current business processes and recommend improvements.
• Maintain and administer the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring IT assets, configurations, and service dependencies are accurately tracked.
• Collaborate with system administrators, CMDB users, and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with standards and improve data quality.
• Update and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and process materials.
• Support service monitoring and observability solutions to improve visibility into IT systems and services.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong background in data analysis and business reporting.
• Knowledge of IT system administration processes and terminology.
• Experience with ServiceNow IT Service Management and CMDB administration.
• Ability to review and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Hands-on experience with project execution within Agile software development lifecycles.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Experience in preparing technical documentation and maintaining accurate records.
• Experience with application and infrastructure monitoring (system performance, troubleshooting, issue resolution) is preferred.
• ServiceNow development or ITSM development experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with integrating alerts into ServiceNow (ITOM) is a plus.
• Exposure to logging and monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, ELK, Splunk, Prometheus, or Datadog is advantageous.
• Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required, however the candidate will need to obtain a Secret clearance (active Secret clearance is a plus).
