TECHNICAL EDITOR

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Technical Editor, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM). You will play a crucial role in supporting the creation and publication of technical documentation and manuals. You will support NETCOM in the collection and interpretation of technical data or information and coordination of layouts for publication to Army Enterprise programs at various life cycle stages. You will support NETCOM by providing technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned projects or tasks.
• Support DoD and DA technical documentation development, parlance, and regulatory guidance.
• Collaborate with the NETCOM G3/5 to proofread, review, revise, and edit technical information for contractors and government employees with the goal of producing accurate, clear, concise, and accessible written materials
• Drive to ensure that complex, often highly specialized, information is accurate, clear, and compliant with strict government standards. This role is a blend of linguistic precision, technical understanding, and adherence to Army regulations and NETCOM standards
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Adobe. Experience with desktop publishing, multimedia production, and online documentation software, as well as excellent computer and word processing skills and strong writing, editing, proofreading, and page composition skills.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 2+ years of related experience
• Technical skills: ITIL ® 4 Foundation Certification is beneficial but not required.
• Security clearance level: Secret
• Role requirements: Ability to create or modify graphics, tables, and figures. Create, edit, update, and store NETCOM templates, as well as generate, assign, and store Document Control Numbers (DCNs). Read and edit documents for clarity, punctuation, grammar, style, and content.
