Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a qualified and motivated Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (4) within the Airborne Multi-Mission Platforms (AMMP) Operating Unit in Linthicum, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management and/or related fields (including business and financial planning, contracts administration, project management, logistics, and manufacturing). This is an onsite position staffed from Linthicum, MD.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • • Participating in make/buy process, long-term capacity and resource planning; product phase-in/phase-out, manufacturing ramp-up, end-of-life management and product-line management
  • • Defining and developing material strategy
  • • Analyzing lead times and identifying critical path procurements
  • • Creating/releasing requisitions
  • • Receiving/reviewing requirements for non-standard parts
  • • Planning inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements
  • • Creating/reducing supply requirements based on inventory adjustments
  • • Providing support to the program team to evaluate material and equipment requirements throughout the life of the program
  • • Understanding the breadth of the supply chain management scope (including materials management, procurement, subcontracts, material finance, and supplier relationship management)
  • • Developing, coordinating, and executing monthly material forecast planning and tracking
  • • Managing a Control Account (CAM) and subsequent Earned Value (EV)
  • • Analyzing material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools
  • • Evaluating suppliers, addressing supplier capacity and/or production issues, and noting key performance indicators
  • • Making sound decisions in a timely manner, displaying strong interpersonal skills, and having an agile mindset

Basic Qualifications:
  • • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of supply chain, material planning, general business, finance, or closely related experience; OR a master's degree with a minimum of 6 years of supply chain, material planning, general business, finance, or closely related experience
  • • Experience with SAP
  • • Experience managing programs with earned value (EV)
  • • Experience with cost accounting management (CAM)
  • • Experience with customer service and demand flow
  • • Extensive experience with Risk mitigation
  • • US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • • Experience with proposals, SONARs, and shop order launches
  • • Experience and/or knowledge in a manufacturing and/or repair depot environment
  • Proficient in using MRP systems for material and financial data analysis
  • • Experience with forecasting material receipts and sales dollars in COGNOS
  • • Experience with Government Programs and FAR/DFAR flow downs
  • • Experience managing suppliers through the following: cost/schedule/quality


Primary Level Salary Range: $108,400.00 - $162,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
