What You'll Get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Firmware Lead to join our diverse and talented team in the development and implementation of advanced software defined radios for military applications. This role will be filled on-site at our Woodland Hills, CA campus.

Primary Level Salary Range: $188,200.00 - $282,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

What You'll Get to Do:
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Firmware Lead to join our diverse and talented team in the development and implementation of advanced software defined radios for military applications. This role will be filled on-site at our Woodland Hills, CA campus.
- Responsible for leading a firmware team, owning overall technical deliverables and the performance of the firmware team's work scope.
- Support quoting efforts for the firmware work scope, facilitating IMS planning and execution
- Support architecture and requirement development, focused on a Model Based solution
- Manage firmware scope, ensuring alignment with contract and statement of work requirements.
- Support tiger teams, addressing issues with disciplined root cause and corrective actions.
- Providing team guidance, focused on executing a defined engineering product development effort.
- Ensure firmware quality, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Driving firmware development processes improvement, enhancing efficiency and product quality.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, operations, program management, mission assurance, and supply chain to resolve complex issues in a timely and efficient manner to meet program commitments.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in a STEM discipline and 12 years of relevant work experience OR Master of Science in a STEM discipline and 10 years of relevant work experience OR 8 years with a PhD
- Experience with High Speed Digital Design; FPGA, SoC, and memory design
- Experience with HDL test bench development, and V&V processes, especially code coverage
- Experience with VHDL design, FPGA design analysis
- Experience with Simulink modeling through HDL Coder development
- Familiarity with QuestaSim, Synplify, and FPGA P&R Tool flow.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management, Configuration Management, and Model Based Engineering environments.
- Proven track record of successful technical leadership in DoD programs.
- Strong technical background in firmware development, including programming languages like C/C++, RTOS, and embedded systems.
- Proven, effective planning, organizational, and communication skills.
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance within a timeframe set forth by management.
- Ability to work onsite 4 days a week in Woodland Hills, CA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant technical specialty.
- Familiarity with Navigation Systems (Inertial & GPS).
- Requirement experience using tracing tools DOORS, LDRA, and FPGA verification tools (e.g. Conformal)
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Doors, Cameo and other project management toolsets.
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Demonstrated ability leading complex technical tasking
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively across all levels of an organization
- Communication, team building and facilitation skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team, upper management and customers.
- Prior experience and knowledge of RTCA/DO-254 designs
- OVM/UVM verification methodology
- Digital Signal Processing design and verification experience
- Computer Architecture knowledge (bus standards, interrupts, memory)
