Description
Leidos has a career opportunity for a Chinese Mandarin Cryptologic Language Instructor who will also serve as a Command Language Program Manager (CLPM) supporting the 435 Intelligence Squadron (435 IS) at Kadena AB, Japan. The selected individual will primarily provide global and cryptologic language training to military personnel and, secondarily, perform CLPM functions for the unit. Candidates must already possess a TS/SCI security clearance in order to be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide global language, cryptologic language, and cultural training to military forces and civilian personnel via traditional classroom instruction, written materials, technology-based instruction, and distributed learning services.
- Conduct approximately 4 cryptologic courses annually (6-8 weeks in length) and 2-3 global language training sessions monthly, subject to operational needs.
- Develop and integrate new global and cryptologic training materials, curriculum, and courseware for approval of US Government.
- Adapt instructional methods to meet student language proficiency goals, learning styles, and time constraints
- Advise Language Manager and military representatives on assessment, placement, and training needs of students
- Track student progression and reports effectiveness of training to Language Manager and military
- Serve as the principal Advisor to Commanders on Foreign Language Issues, provides regular program updates and reports compliance, addresses specific linguist challenges and opportunities, maximizes language proficiency, language readiness, and mission impacts, facilitates diagnostic assessments and language placement tests; tailors individualized training for each CLA and manages remedial training.
- Performs mission essential tasks critical to the successful accomplishment of AF cryptologic missions and ID language readiness for CCs through comprehensive language program management, developing and managing the unit's mentorship program, coordinating w/supervisors, language mentors and Cryptologic Language Analysts (CLA) and managing their unit's portion of the JCD (CLPM database).
Required Qualifications
- TS/SCI security on Day 1
- Minimum score of L2+/R2+/S2 on the DLPT in Mandarin Chinese
- Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or Associate’s and 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Developing and delivering language training materials, including lesson plans, assessments, and multimedia resources.
- Applying various instructional methodologies to diverse learning styles.
- Evaluating student progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with cryptologic language training concepts is a plus.

Desired Qualifications
- Score of L3/R3/S3 on the DLPT in Mandarin Chinese
- Cryptologic OR foreign language experience
- Experience as a formal training instructor
- A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to adult learners is preferred. Equivalent experience, such as providing intensive language tutoring or mentoring, may be considered.
