Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Full-Time Paramedic to support Kadiak and our government customer in Anniston, AL. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Independently perform paramedic-specific duties as outlined in the State of Alabama Paramedic Protocols, in accordance with (IAW) State of Alabama Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Rules.
  • Provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) treatment as required, under the general supervision of the Lead Paramedic (Supervisor).
  • Evaluate individuals and provide appropriate medical treatment for illness or injuries resulting from exposure to chemical or biological agents at the Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, Radiological Training Facility (COBRATF).
  • Operate and maintain site medical treatment rooms for the evaluation and care of sick and injured persons, including those requiring acute care, first aid, palliative treatment, and/or occupational health services.
  • Perform medical evaluations of individuals returning from absences due to illness, injury, or other reasons to ensure they are physically and/or emotionally fit to resume training, considering the real and potential health hazards of the training environment.
  • Clearly communicate with patients, peers, and supervisors.
  • Complete all medical record documentation and follow-up services prior to the end of shift.
  • Inspect and maintain emergency equipment and vehicles to ensure proper operating condition.
  • Maintain inventory of medical supplies IAW established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Current, unencumbered State of Alabama Paramedic License and National Registry Certification (NREMT-P)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Current Emergency Vehicle Operator's Course (EVOC) certificate
  • Valid State-issued STAR ID
  • Clear driving record
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift and Carry:
    • Must be able to lift 125-175 lbs (e.g., a mannequin) onto a stretcher, secure it, and load it into an ambulance.
  • Rapid Stair Climb:
    • Must climb three flights of stairs and descend within 3 minutes while carrying 40 lbs of equipment (e.g., two 20-lb dumbbells or a 40-lb backpack).
  • PPE Use:
    • Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including an air-purifying respirator, for extended periods.

Agility Requirements:
  • Ability to kneel, bend, and twist while providing aid to patients
  • Ability to move quickly through confined spaces and around obstacles

Manual Dexterity:
  • Must be capable of precise hand and finger movements to safely administer aid using a variety of medical instruments, requiring accuracy to prevent further injury

Vision Requirements:
  • Good vision, including color discrimination, is essential. Corrective lenses (glasses or contacts) are acceptable if they allow for normal vision.

Cognitive Requirements:
  • Capacity to think critically and implement effective solutions in both medical and administrative environments
