Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Providing fire prevention, fire protection, and/or fire suppression services;
2) Operating a wide variety of firefighting vehicles, apparatus, and equipment;
3) Responding to and/or mitigating hazardous materials incidents; and
4) Providing emergency medical care and/or basic, intermediate, and advanced life support measures.
***This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician, and National Registry EMT-Paramedic. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- You will direct EMS providers in delivering medical aid to the sick and/or injured patient.
- You will administer various medications orally or intravenously via sublingual, intramuscular, endotracheal, inhalation, etc under the direction of standing orders or an off-site physician.
- You will respond to medical emergencies (e.g., sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth) to provide immediate medical attention and treatment
- You will assess a patient systematically to identify the nature, extent, and seriousness of the patient's condition.
- You will perform crash-rescue and firefighter duties involving air traffic operations.
