Description
Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company is seeking Project Lead-CNS/ATM Programs in Patuxent River, MD. The Project Lead will lead and coordinate the integration of Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) capabilities across multiple Navy aircraft platforms. This role requires deep expertise in systems engineering, acquisition lifecycle management, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful delivery of avionics upgrades and compliance with ACAT program requirements.

Essential Functions:
- Engineering Management & IPT Support
- Provide technical leadership to the CNS/ATM Integrated Product Team (IPT)
- Oversee platform integration efforts, systems engineering processes, and technical reviews
- Manage risk assessments, project plans, and acquisition documentation
- Aircraft Integration & Sustainment
- Lead engineering management for CNS/ATM capability integration on fielded Navy aircraft
- Ensure sustainment and performance optimization of integrated systems
- Systems Acquisition Coordination
- Facilitate cross-functional integration across engineering, procurement, finance, environmental, configuration management, testing, manufacturing, and logistics
- Support program direction implementation through structured coordination
- Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR)
- Manage SETR processes for Acquisition Category (ACAT) programs
- Ensure cost, schedule, and performance (CSP) objectives are met for each platform
- Contract & Documentation Oversight
- Draft Statements of Work (SOWs), conduct technical evaluations, and support contract management
- Collaborate with major defense industry partners to ensure deliverables align with program goals
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate bi-weekly engineering meetings to align functional requirements and resolve issues
- Serve as liaison between Navy stakeholders and contractor teams
- Other duties as assigned or required
Requirements
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in Navy aviation systems, CNS/ATM integration, or related defense programs
- Proven experience with ACAT programs and SETR processes
- Strong understanding of DoD acquisition regulations and lifecycle documentation
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with avionics systems, mission planning tools, and integrated logistics support
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Management, or related field
