SMX is seeking an Embedded Configuration Management (CM) Administrator to support an embedded lab environment at NAS Patuxent River.
This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) configuration management processes, including software tracking, documentation, and submission of required approvals. The Configuration Management Administrator will play a key role in sustaining lab readiness by managing software licenses, maintaining accurate records, and processing submissions in accordance with established policies.

The proposed salary for this position is:
$73,100 - $121,800 USD

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) configuration management processes, including software tracking, documentation, and submission of required approvals. The Configuration Management Administrator will play a key role in sustaining lab readiness by managing software licenses, maintaining accurate records, and processing submissions in accordance with established policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day configuration management duties to ensure systems remain compliant and properly documented
- Track software licenses to ensure availability, accuracy, and compliance with DoD/Navy standards
- Prepare and process DADMS/FAM software submissions and removals
- Support ITPR submissions for software and hardware procurement requests
- Submit and maintain NAV-ITAS entries to align with system requirements and compliance
- Coordinate with system administrators, engineers, and program staff to ensure CM audit readiness
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for all CM actions
Required Skills & Experience
- Clearance Required: Secret
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret
- 3+ years of related experience
- Ability to work on-site at NAS Patuxent River (CWS )
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and tracking
- Familiarity with Navy/DoD CM processes, including software approval and tracking requirements
- Effective communication skills for coordination across multiple stakeholders
- Foundational IT knowledge to understand software and system dependencies
Desired Skills & Experience
- Prior experience with DADMS/FAM submissions
- Familiarity with ITPR and NAV-ITAS submission processes
- Previous work in a Navy or DoD lab environment
- Experience supporting configuration management within RDT&E or operational systems
