Autonodyne is a Boston-based software company working to provide additive autonomy to unmanned vehicles across land, sea and air domains. While much of our work support the defense sector, our technologies are also dual-use with applications in the commercial markets.
We are looking to bring on several software engineering interns. The ideal candidate is a motivated student in Computer Science or a related field with strong programming skills (C, C++, C#) and an interest in Unity development. They are eager to learn, collaborative, and effective at communicating technical concepts, with a passion for unmanned systems and mission-critical software.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain command and control station (CCS) software using C# and Unity;
Develop and optimize mission computer code for target devices (e.g., single-board computers) using C, C++, and C#;
Expand Autonodyne’s autonomy agent capabilities and integrate a Reasoning-at-the-Edge (ROTE) framework to enhance autonomous behaviors;
Run simulations to validate and improve systems and software performance;
Participate in Agile/Scrum software development, including code reviews and team discussions;
Support flight test as required
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a BA/BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field;
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (C, C++,C#);
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns;
Familiarity in Unity game engine development;
Excellent communication skills: able to explain technical concepts, ask thoughtful questions, and provide constructive feedback;
Motivated, eager to learn, and able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment;
U.S. Citizenship Required;
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience or strong interest in unmanned systems (UAS/UAV) and avionics;
Familiarity with mission-critical or real-time systems;
Experience extending Unity with complex logic
Active Secret Clearance;
Travel:
This position will likely involve little to no travel.
Other Criteria:
Strongly prefer domicile near the Boston/Cambridge metro area.
