NAVWAR 8.0 is responsible for oversight and successful execution of all corporate operations related activities for NAVWAR in support of Navy-wide Information Dominance initiatives. Due to reorganization along functional lines, this program office is consolidating and contracting for support across several 8.0 functional areas. This includes Corporate Operations, Strategic Management, Business Planning, Workforce Management, Military Management, Process Improvement, and Corporate Communications.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Management Specialist will support the Corporate Strategy Team in driving project management, problem-solving, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, the specialist will collaborate closely with NAVWAR leadership and cross-functional teams to facilitate problem-solving workshops, develop innovative solutions, and translate strategies into actionable plans that advance organizational objectives on the NAVWAR 8.0 Corporate Operations Support Services (COSS) contract. This position is located in San Diego, CA.
This is a temporary (contract) assignment expected to last 4 - 6 months.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $80,000. - $87,000. This position is eligible to participate in our corporate 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) programs, and may be eligible for performance bonuses, and other rewards and benefits (see more about our compensation package and benefits offered at Culture @ INDUS | INDUS Technology). What You'll Do
- Develop executive-level PowerPoint presentations/briefs for director, including GRGB updates, trainings, and leadership meetings.
- Responsible for collecting and amending GRGB project vignettes for publication on the Navy SharePoint page, ensuring content is clear, accurate, and aligned with communication goals.Update the monthly booster training materials by converting PDFs to PowerPoint presentations for easy sharing and upload them to the GRGB team channel and SharePoint page every month.
- Develops and updates Syscom Improvement Office dashboards for leadership visibility.
- Maintain and update the Level of Effort (LOE) records for various activities, including communication with the Community of Practice team, training sessions, and GRGB updates.
- Lead communication efforts to secure GRGB award approval and ensure readiness for implementation.
- Consolidates performance metrics across NAVWAR for enterprise-level reporting.
- Facilitate collaboration and provide insights to ensure effective adoption and continuous improvement of the GRGB Lessons Learned program at NAVWAR.
- Coordinate with various competencies and individuals within NAVWAR to identify relevant topics for the 1NAVWAR Business Board/L2A Board, then prepare and review briefs through dry runs to ensure executive readiness and facilitate the 1NAVWAR BB on the day of the meeting.
- Present monthly at New Employee Orientation(NEO) sessions, delivering an overview of the Get Real Get Better (GRGB).
- Prepare and present survey and assessment results reports to the director and executives by leading data analysis and communication coordination efforts.(FEVS, 9X9,GRGB and DEOCS)
- Manage, update, and maintain the SharePoint page to ensure it is always current and ready for the workforce, with the latest information and documentation.
- Manage the Corporate Strategy SharePoint site, ensuring information is well-organized and easily accessible to team members.
- Collect participant names and communicate training details to ensure they are fully prepared to begin Green Belt training on the scheduled start date.
- Manage and coordinate communication for the GRGB 2024 Unclosed Project, ensuring alignment and progress across all stakeholders.
- Bid and proposal support if requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- An active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required.
- Seven (7) years of experience providing project management support to a NAVWAR program office.
- Must possess intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization, etc.).
- Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder engagement and developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Prior experience in records management and supporting strategy development initiatives.
- Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Must possess strong time management skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and the Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) framework desired.
- Strong background in process improvement and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) desired.
- Familiarity with Scrum, Agile, and Development-Security-Operations (DevSecOps) methodologies desired.
- Proficient in Kanban for task management and workflow optimization desired.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree desired.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
- The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
