MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Storage Engineer to join our team in Camp Springs, MD. This is a hybrid position.
This role involves the daily management of available disk space, creating Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs), and making storage accessible to servers, operating systems, and databases. The Senior Storage Engineer will also be instrumental in developing and updating enterprise storage policies and processes, and will focus on capacity planning, performance monitoring, and providing recommendations for overall data protection and system optimization

This role involves the daily management of available disk space, creating Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs), and making storage accessible to servers, operating systems, and databases. The Senior Storage Engineer will also be instrumental in developing and updating enterprise storage policies and processes, and will focus on capacity planning, performance monitoring, and providing recommendations for overall data protection and system optimization
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage available disk space, create LUNs, and make storage available to servers, OS, and databases.
- Manage storage support to protect all federal agency data across all hosts in all environments (data centers, field sites, and Cloud).
- Create or update Enterprise Storage policy and processes.
- Provide the Network Operations Center (NOC) with response procedures/scripts and notification procedures for alerts.
- Monitor data storage at all Data Centers and Cloud locations.
- Ensure all federal agency storage is available at least 99.95% of the time.
- Provide management with an Enterprise Data Storage Plan and Policy for Resource Servers that includes automation, provisioning, disaster recovery, and backup and recovery solutions.
- Oversee hardware maintenance of storage infrastructure, including NetApp storage arrays.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years+ of experience in Storage Administration
- NetApp storage systems experience; that includes experience with NetApp systems administration support for large scale Windows/Linux environments.
- 10 years+ of experience installing and configuring NetApp storage systems.
- 10 years+ of experience writing scripts with a scripting language
- 5 years+ of experience using OCI
- 5 years+ of experience in managing FlexPod integration with NetApp storage
- 2 years+ of experience with AWS On-Premise and AWS migrations
- Familiarity with DevOps and ITIL processes
- Demonstrated experience in automation of routine tasks and associated industry leading toolsets
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant AWS, Netapp, or equivalent certification(s)
- Familiarity with all or some tools strongly preferred (Hyper Converge Infrastructure (HCI), Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager, MS System Center Suite)
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be able to pass USCIS background investigation (public trust)
Physical Requirements:
- Office work, typically sedentary with some movement around the office.
- Ability to travel (car or air) and present at conferences or meetings.
