Title: Engineering Technician II
Job Location: Manassas, VA 20110
Position Summary: The Engineering Technician II position will support engineers with a variety of basic to moderately complex engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks. This position requires an engineering technician for maintenance, fabrication, and integration of laboratory assets. This includes supporting hardware/software integration activities, building/fixing/testing military specification tactical cables, connectors, and hardware. In addition, the position will also assist in reviewing project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions, and to support hardware for development and delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Engineering Technician is responsible for performing the following tasks:
Support setup and integration of hardware for software development per design specification
Support testing of system component
Support variety of basic to moderately complex engineering duties and/or hands-on tasks
Troubleshoot system component using lab test equipment and engineering document
Source and build Mil-Spec cabling to support system interface
Develop and maintain process and tracking documentation of program assets
Assists in the development of lab layouts, and process improvements
Basic Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (2+ years)
Able to receive and maintain a US Government Security Clearance (DoD)
Basic knowledge of technician test equipment and hand tools
Basic hardware troubleshooting knowledge
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Additional Desirable Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:
Understanding of systems communications protocols such as RS232, TCP-IP, UDP
Experience with Linux OS and scripting programming language
US Military background
2+ years of professional customer service experience
Physical Requirements:
Lift up to 45 lbs.: up to 10% of time
Standing, Stooping, Bending, Climbing, Kneeling: up to 20% of time
Walking: up to 20% of time
Sitting: up to 50% of time
Travel: up to 5% of time
The annual base salary range of this position is $47,21900 - $57,485.00.
The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement for a new hire, promotion, or job transfer, and may be modified in the future. Actual base salary may vary depending on a variety of factors including relevant experience, education, specialized/key skills, certifications, departmental budgets, market demands, geographic location, and other relevant, job-related factors.
