Job Description
The Network Administrator/Monitor supports the 24x7 Operations of our clients enterprise network. The network monitor will work on a team responsible for the 24x7 mission management and operations of the AF DCGS Enterprise Network.
Title: Tier 1 Network Administrator/Monitor
Location: Hampton, VA (on-site) - Langley AFB
Schedule:
- 4x10 schedule: Mon–Thurs or Thurs–Sun, 7 AM–5 PM
- Rotating shifts every 4 months
- Night shift option (9 PM–7 AM) with shift differential
Requirements:
• Must possess a TS/SCI Clearance
• Minimum of 3 years of Enterprise Network Management experience
• Possess IAT Level II certification
• Demonstrated knowledge of routing and switching
Responsibilities:
• Conduct fault management to detect, isolate, and correct abnormal network and information processing system component anomalies on a 24-hours-a-day, seven (7) days-a-week basis
• Monitor all nodes for operational integrity
• Respond to trouble calls
• Initiate and maintain trouble tickets and other logs to document these anomalies as well as corrective actions
• Populate and examine trouble and error logs for troubleshooting and capturing metrics
• Provide technical support to resolve the problem or escalate to the appropriate level
• Monitor and administer network tools for troubleshooting and metrics for trends analysis
• Log all network issues utilizing the 480 ISRW approved system of record for problems, errors, and maintenance in such a way to easily generate reports for trend analysis
• Provide technical support in data network planning, engineering, and design
• Report all trouble calls upon receipt to the MCC in the DOC and provide hourly updates until resolution unless otherwise directed by the DOC Crew Commander
• Provide quarterly metrics illustrating trends and workload to the COR in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (CDRL)
• Provide network architecture management and data traffic routing for classified ISR data on the Wide Area Network (WAN) and its components
• Provide support to the DPA 24-hours-a-day, seven (7) days-a-week
• Detect network faults and initiate troubleshooting and restoral actions for network circuits, trunks and equipment for the DPA
• Initiate and maintain trouble tickets and other logs to document these faults as well as corrective actions
• Perform activities in support of the DOC's PED Tasking Order (PTO) such as provisioning bandwidth between DCGS sites and the preparation and testing of circuits
