Savvee Inc. is seeking a network-savvy, problem solver with a passion for secure, high-performance systems to join our team as a Network Engineer to take the lead in configuring, optimizing, and safeguarding our critical infrastructure for our client on-site in Norfolk, VA. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operating and managing network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, servers, and transmission media.
- Configuring and optimizing network hubs, routers, and switches.
- Developing and implementing network backup and recovery procedures.
- Diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.
- Installing and maintaining network infrastructure device operating system software.
- Monitoring network capacity and performance.
- Patching network vulnerabilities to safeguard information.
- Testing and maintaining network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.
- Implementing and testing network infrastructure contingency and recovery plans.
- Establishing and maintaining network security practices.
- Analyzing network traffic capacity and performance characteristics.
- Developing and validating network security measures.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation of network configurations and changes.
- Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client
- Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support
REQUIRED EDUCATION & TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Certification in one of the following:
- CompTIA Network+
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
- Four or more years of directly related work experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A highly motivated self-starter
- Must be motivated and have excellent customer service skills
