Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a qualified candidate to join the engineering leadership team as a Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineering 2 located in Salt Lake City, UT . To be successful, the manager must demonstrate a highly engaging leadership style, have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What you'll get to do:
  • Manage systems test operations support for the systems factory.
  • Process development and maintenance over systems test operations.
  • Develop new test procedures and equipment.
  • Continues process improvement based on data driven metrics.
  • Interface with and build relationships across organizations in Salt Lake City, Woodland Hills and other NGC sites.
  • Organization representative to program office and external customer as needed.
  • Supervise a team of engineers including but not limited to performance evaluations, goal setting, and developing a strategic vision for the team.


The ideal candidate must have good presentation skills with the ability to communicate written and verbally, demonstrate the ability to lead technical projects, including project scope management, budget, schedule, and overall execution.

Basic qualifications for the Manager Manufacturing Systems Engineering 2:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or directly related STEM discipline with 8 years of engineering experience; or Master's degree with 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and/project leadership.
  • 2 or more years of experience with leading individuals or projects.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience with Fiber Optic Assembly Process.
  • People Management experience.
  • Experience with Missile Defense Agency Program.
  • Experience using data for decision making.
  • Root Cause Corrective Actions experience.
  • Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience with electromechanical assembly.


Primary Level Salary Range: $135,100.00 - $202,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
