Technical Program Lead
The Opportunity:
As a senior technical project manager, you understand the complexities of delivering projects from concept through deployment. You will partner with product managers, hardware or sof tware engineers, and client stakeholders to translate ambitious product visions into actionable project plans, balancing scope, capacity, and delivery goals. You'll manage execution across multiple technical domains, develop and track schedules, budget s, and dependencies, and provide transparency through dashboards, status reports, and executive briefings to ensure successful outcomes for complex defense and technology projects.
On our team, you will lead the full life cycle of technical projects - from concept design, requirements development, and systems engineering through integration, testing, and deployment with a chance to see our technical solutions integrated and flown onboard different DoD weapon systems. You'll identify, assess, and mitigate risks across cost, schedule, technical performance, and security. You will manage project artifacts including contractor proposals, CDRLs, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with DoD acquisition, contracting, and security requirements. You will also support technical architecture planning and standards, co-owning scalability decisions with engineering leadership and driving quality, security, and operational readiness throughout the engineering lifecycle.
The role requires not only technical fluency, but also strong communication and stakeholder management skills to ensure alignment across government, industry, and engineering partners. You will foster collaboration across multi-functional teams, vendors, and clients while providing executive-level visibility into project progress, risks, and trade-offs. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- 15+ years of experience managing technical projects with delivery on time and within budget
- Experience with DoD acquisition processes, systems engineering, and project execution
- Experience developing hardware solutions, such as Line Replaceable Units ( LRU ) , for a Major Weapon System
- Experience with agile sof tware and hardware development
- Experience evaluating subcontractor deliverables and proposals
- Ability to translate product direction and system requirements into detailed, executable plans
- Ability to identify risks and drive mitigation strategies across complex projects
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics ( STEM ) field
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with Earned Value Management System ( EVMS )
- Experience with compliance, security, or integration of third-party services
- Experience developing flight certified L RUs for DoD aircraft
- Experience developing program tools and processes that improved efficiency and effectiveness
- Experience with international defense e nga gement, security cooperation, or technology export
- Possession of excellent stakeholder management and verbal and written communication skills, including developing high-visibility presentations and briefings
- Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics ( STEM ) or related field
- Top Secret clearance
