Position Description:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer with DevOps expertise to join our cloud systems team. The selected candidate will be responsible for standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in cloud environments and managing the deployment and sustainment of custom code, COTS, and GOTS systems. This is a hands-on engineering role in a dynamic team working to modernize production and dissemination systems through desktop and web-based solutions.

Pay Range
$85,000-$100,000

Position Description:
We are seeking a Systems Engineer with DevOps expertise to join our cloud systems team. The selected candidate will be responsible for standing up and maintaining Windows Servers in cloud environments and managing the deployment and sustainment of custom code, COTS, and GOTS systems. This is a hands-on engineering role in a dynamic team working to modernize production and dissemination systems through desktop and web-based solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and manage Windows server instances in AWS cloud environments.
- Deploy and sustain applications across development, test, and operational environments.
- Troubleshoot systems, perform patching, and coordinate with internal and external development teams.
- Execute DevSecOps methodologies using CI/CD pipelines and automation.
- Develop and manage infrastructure using GitLab, Python, RedHat OpenShift, and AWS services.
- Support Agile workflows with collaborative tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Work collaboratively with developers to maintain systems and improve automation.
- Note: Program core hours are 9am-3pm ET. Evening or weekend work may be required approximately 2 times a month (based on mission requirements). Schedule changes will be arranged when necessary.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline and 4+ years of experience; OR Master's degree with 2+ years; OR 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS security clearance (SCI eligibility post-hire).
- DoD 8570 compliance (Security+ or equivalent).
- Experience managing Microsoft Windows Servers and desktop OS in cloud/AWS environments.
- Knowledge of system design, architecture, and virtualization.
- Understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and GitLab automation.
- Familiarity with RedHat OpenShift and developing web apps in Python.
- Familiarity with team collaboration platforms (Jira, Confluence, RocketChat).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies.
- Experience with AWS services: CloudFormation, S3, ECS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway.
- Experience writing and maintaining architecture documentation.
- Microsoft and/or AWS certifications.
