Aircraft Mechanic II (Sheet Metal) – F-15 Maintenance Support

Location: Seymour Johnson AFB, Goldsboro, NC
Unit Supported: 4th Maintenance Group
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic II (Sheet Metal) to support F-15 Organizational, Intermediate, and Depot (OID) Level maintenance operations at Seymour Johnson AFB. The selected candidate will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, structural repairs, aircraft painting, and depot-level modifications to return F-15 aircraft to full mission capability. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled F-15 maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting.
Conduct structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, and modifications in accordance with technical orders.
Support Depot-level activities, including Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), Time Change Items (TCI), and One-Time Inspections (OTI).
Perform corrosion control and aircraft painting, from touch-ups to full aircraft paint.
Maintain accurate aircraft maintenance documentation (logs, records, forms, and electronic entries).
Conduct flight line operations, including launch, recovery, and servicing.
Operate and inspect Support Equipment (SE).
Ensure compliance with Tool Control Program and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Provide wire harness manufacture/repair and support concurrent aircraft and back-shop workloads.
Mentor and lead lower-level mechanics during complex maintenance tasks.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 6 years aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 2 years working on F-15 aircraft in a sheet metal mechanic role.
Technical Expertise:
Ability to remove/replace F-15 structural parts and assemblies.
Skilled in corrosion identification, removal, and applying protective coatings.
Experience with aircraft metals, composites, fiberglass, plastics, and honeycomb structures.
Knowledge of taper locks, cold working bushings, and precision fitting.

Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical orders.
Understanding of USAF maintenance directives, structural assembly, and modification processes.
Familiarity with precision measuring tools (torque wrenches, micrometers, dial indicators, sheet metal brakes/shears).
Working knowledge of aircraft troubleshooting and repair procedures.
Ability to obtain/maintain required medical and physical standards.
Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to lead small teams.

Schedule
Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 0700 to 1600
May require occasional TDY travel in support of maintenance operations.
