Spunk Engineer (TS/SCI)

Piper Companies is hiring a Splunk Engineer (TS/SCI) for a large technology company located in Oakton, VA. The Splunk Engineer (TS/SCI) will be a 6 month contract opportunity and will need to sit on site 5 days per week to provide consultant services on Splunk.

Responsibilities of the Splunk Engineer (TS/SCI):

• Build and optimize Splunk dashboards and alerts for real-time monitoring
• Analyze network traffic and logs to detect anomalies and threats
• Improve backend Splunk infrastructure and integrate tools like ExtraHop and SolarWinds
• Mentor junior engineers in Splunk and traffic analysis
• Document monitoring and troubleshooting procedures

Requirements for the Splunk Engineer (TS/SCI):

• Active TS/SCI Clearance - REQUIRED
• Proven experience with Splunk (dashboard creation, log analysis, alerting)
• Familiarity with backend Splunk architecture and infrastructure tuning
• Experience with network monitoring tools like ExtraHop and SolarWinds
• Strong understanding of network traffic patterns and anomaly detection

Compensation of the Spunk Engineer (TS/SCI):

• $150,000 - $175,000
