MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Engineering Technician to join our team in Hollywood, FL. This is an on-site position.
As an Engineering Technician, you will support complex engineering activities related to acoustic systems, including the assembly, analysis, design, and testing of acoustic sensors, systems, and related equipment. This position blends hands-on technical work with collaborative support to engineers and customers, ensuring the successful deployment and performance of acoustic systems in diverse operational environments.

As an Engineering Technician, you will support complex engineering activities related to acoustic systems, including the assembly, analysis, design, and testing of acoustic sensors, systems, and related equipment. This position blends hands-on technical work with collaborative support to engineers and customers, ensuring the successful deployment and performance of acoustic systems in diverse operational environments.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Perform software and hardware engineering support activities, including system assembly, analysis, design, and testing
- Collaborate with engineers and technical staff on multidisciplinary project teams
- Plan and execute research, development, and installation efforts in accordance with engineering designs and customer specifications
- Support senior engineers during design reviews, troubleshooting activities, and implementation of technical solutions for U.S. Navy acoustic systems
- Assemble, operate, and maintain complex portable data acquisition systems (electrical, electronic, and mechanical)
- Conduct electronic component assembly, soldering, cable fabrication, and systems testing
- Troubleshoot acoustic and data acquisition systems, including computer-based operations
- Support towed array system operations, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Read and apply preventive maintenance procedures and documentation to ensure system performance
- Willingness to travel within the United States for site installations, training, or other mission-critical operations up to 20%
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of experience with electronic equipment assembly, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- 3+ years of experience with acoustic sensors and signal processing, including familiarity with in-water measurement arrays, maintenance practices, and hardware/software interface integration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with towed array handling, installations, maintenance, and operations in a U.S. Navy environment
- Advanced technician skills in soldering and electronic system troubleshooting
- Experience with technical writing or editing, particularly in support of Navy technical documentation
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot complex data acquisition systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Clearance Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to carry and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs
- Ability to crawl and maneuver in confined spaces such as bilge areas
- Occasional support at waterfront locations, industrial warehouses, or maritime environments
- Occasional work in outdoor environments under varying weather conditions during field validations
