SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Database Analyst I – DB2 for an On-Site opportunity in Columbia, SC. Candidates need to have 5 years of IT experience including varied database administration experience (DB2, RHEL OS systems).
Client is implementing a new cloud rack system running on DB2 in a clustered environment.
Work Location: Columbia, SC. Will be fully onsite until trained and then 3 days onsite a week and as needed.
Hours: M-F 9-5:30 - Occasional after hours and weekends to do maintenance outside of business hours.
Required Qualifications of the Database Analyst I - DB2:
Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
Required Education: Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job related field. or 2 years of job related work experience.
Required Technologies: DB2 database management; Strong knowledge of RHEL operating systems; bash ksh
Nice To Have: IIAS, DB2 UDB architecture; implementing security standards (i.e. STIG); User ID management strategies
Must have: ability to self-manage, lead projects, and train other team members. Looking for an entrepreneurial spirit; a true desire to make things better and more modern
Responsibilities of the Database Analyst I - DB2:
Support day-to-day operations – Work action requests from customers when assigned, install patches and upgrades, work assigned days as “Hot Seat” routing new customer requests to the team, participate in regular meetings and workgroups with the DBAs and data analytics staff
Participate in the modernization effort including implementing an IBM P10 data warehouse, moving from AIX servers to Linux, Implementing Python to replace SAS, Implementing new security measures and SSO, and implementing DevOps/DevSecOps
About our Team:
We have a mix of local and remote, but we meet on video (required) daily to maintain an in-person feeling. We are the systems and DBA part of a larger Medicare Statistical Analysis Department, but our data warehouse has grown to serve more than statistical analysis. We are in the middle of a large modernization effort that is replacing all of our systems over the course of two years
