This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Help
- Serve as Chief, Clinical Optimization within the Healthcare Operations Directorate of the Network.
- Directly support the 39 MTFs of the Network by providing guidance on optimizing health care delivery with clinical policy and medical management expertise.
- Exercise technical oversight on medical management guidelines throughout the Network.
- Consult with Office of The Surgeon General (OTSG); Navy Bureau of Medicine Surgery (BUMED), Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA) and the Defense Health Agency (DHA) to identify the corporate direction for practice management in the DHN West.
- Establish positive working relationships between the Director's office and key Internal, External or Federal partner agency representatives to achieve a cooperative whole of government medical capability development plan for the DHN West.
- Comprehensive understanding of the relationships among manpower planning, distribution and assignment practices for all staffing requirements and personnel scheduling.
- Perform expert-level senior medical strategic planning by reviewing and providing input into the overall healthcare delivery plan, known as the Performance Planning Process (PP) as the expert on practice management and provider productivity.

- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 20% of the time to various locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships and vehicles.
