Site Reliability Engineer III/Tech Lead
The Site Reliability Engineer III leads the design and implementation of reliable infrastructure solutions that solve customer and user problems. They enable efficient delivery of value to our customers through architectures, infrastructure, and pipelines. They align business requirements with technical implementation and also support operations of production environments including observability and troubleshooting.
The Impact You Will Create:
This position will function as the technical lead for the project team. The Total ITRegs project supports modernizing and maintaining critical federal technology systems that serve both agencies and the public. The work spans system development, modernization, and 24/7 operations - including rebuilding legacy platforms on modern cloud architectures, improving performance and security, enabling data-driven decision making, and ensuring reliable, continuous operations. The teams collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that strengthen government services and enhance public engagement.

Salary Midpoint: $133,302

- Synthesizes business requirements and drives infrastructure solutions.
- Collaborates with designers, PMs, and engineers to build features.
- Coaches and mentors others on professional skills.
- Leads all phases of the infrastructure and operations lifecycle.
- Designs and implements secure, effective infrastructure solutions.
- Automates workflows and reduces technical debt.
- Troubleshoots issues across infrastructure layers.
- Develops vulnerability management and continuous improvement plans.
- Reviews code and provides constructive feedback.
Work Experience
Skills and Qualifications We Require at Fearless:
At Fearless, we seek candidates who blend technical know-how with sharp problem-solving and advisory skills to drive real impact in the communities we serve. Here are the key qualifications for this role.
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
- Must have at least 7 years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Experience with Documentum and Oracle is required
- Proficiency across all layers of system architecture.
- Expert in Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Docker.
- Proficiency with Linux and Bash scripting.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to manage git workflows and support other engineers.
- Advanced degrees or certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or Security+.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.
- Experience working with government or large industry clients.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
- Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
- Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
- Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).
