Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Systems Analyst who will provide advanced analytical and technical expertise to support Department of Defense (DoD) missions and programs. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse and talented group of individuals committed to driving success.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating mission and system requirements, conducting in-depth analyses, and recommending solutions to optimize performance, integration, and operational effectiveness.
The Senior Systems Analyst will work closely with program managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure system solutions align with mission objectives and DoD standards.
Skills / Experience
* Active TS/SCI Clearance
* 8+ years of experience as a systems analyst or in a related role, preferably in DoD or federal programs
* Expertise in requirements management, system analysis, and functional decomposition
* Experience with DoD acquisition processes, system lifecycle management, and mission systems
* Experience in analytical tools and methodologies (e.g., DOORS, JIRA, MBSE tools, or equivalent)
* Strong understanding of system integration, testing, and validation processes
* Familiarity with DoD functional mission areas of sustainment, maintenance, and life cycle support; direct project experience preferred.
* Knowledge of cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance standards for defense systems.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts to senior leaders and stakeholders
* Strong problem-solving skills with ability to deliver innovative solutions
* Lead requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and system performance evaluations
* Translate mission and user needs into technical specifications and system requirements
* Conduct trade studies, gap analyses, and risk assessments to support decision-making
* Develop and maintain system documentation, use cases, and process workflows
* Support system integration, testing, and validation activities in lab, simulation, or operational environments
* Provide analytical support for acquisition, modernization, and sustainment of defense systems
* Ensure compliance with DoD standards, policies, and security requirements
* Prepare reports, technical briefs, and recommendations for leadership and stakeholders
* Mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge-sharing across the team
Education / Certifications
* Bachelor's degree in Systems Analysis, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline (required)
* Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Analysis, or related field (preferred)
* Professional Engineer (PE) license (if applicable to field of study)
* INCOSE CSEP/ESEP (Certified Systems Engineering Professional)
* DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP)
* MBSE certifications (SysML, Cameo, or equivalent)
* PMP or DAWIA certification (for acquisition and program support roles)

Security Clearance

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
