Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Senior Network Engineer will provide advanced engineering, design, implementation, and support for Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise networks across classified and unclassified environments.

This role requires expertise in network architecture, security compliance, and operational support of mission-critical systems. The engineer will collaborate with program managers, system administrators, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders to ensure resilient, secure, and compliant network operations.

The Senior Network Engineer will perform network troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimization using enterprise tools. The ideal candidate will provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers and administrators.

Skills / Experience Required

* Active TS/SCI Clearance
* 8+ years of experience as a Network Engineer in DoD environments, with proven expertise in one or more of the MDoDS functional areas of sustainment, maintenance, and life cycle support
* Ensure compliance with DoD security requirements, including DISA STIGs, RMF, and ATO processes
* Hands-on experience with enterprise-class routing and switching technologies (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.)
* Design, configure, implement, and maintain DoD network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN, VoIP, wireless, and cloud-based environments)
* Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VoIP, MPLS, VLANs, firewalls, and network security protocols
* Support classified and unclassified environments (NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS, or other mission systems)
* Familiarity with classified networks (e.g., NIPRNET, SIPRNET, JWICS) and cross-domain solutions
* Experience with DoD cybersecurity and compliance frameworks (RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, IAVM compliance)
* Knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Splunk, Wireshark, ACAS)
* Experience supporting network integration projects and upgrades in operational DoD environments
* Lead integration projects, system migrations, and technology upgrades
* Document network configurations, diagrams, and technical procedures for accreditation and operational continuity
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing documentation and interfacing with stakeholders

Education / Certifications

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
* Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance is/may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
