- Serve as a materials handler performing a full range of warehousing, property accountability and material handling duties
- Operate, manage, and maintain a secure warehouse for accountable property book items
- Receive all incoming property book items from the hand receipt holder and acquisition personnel
- Verify property book and inventory data utilizing a computer system, such as the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system
- Assist in the distribution of items
- Accept excess items from hand receipt holders. As required, evaluate turned-in equipment type and usage and contact proper environmental personnel for disposal of hazardous material
- Monitor the overall safety, security, and maintenance of the warehouse and equipment
- Operate motor vehicles up to and including 5 ton capacity to transport materials and cargo

- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a background investigation to determine your suitability for Federal employment.
- This position has a requirement to lift and move items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements exceeding 50 pounds in the regular performance of duties
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

- Physical Effort: Work is performed on hard surfaces for extended periods of time that require standing, stooping, bending, walking, pulling, pushing, kneeling and working in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40 pounds with occasional requirements exceeding 50 pounds. Heavier items are moved with approved lifting devices and or weight handling equipment or with assistance from other workers.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and out door areas. Inside environments are well lighted, heated and ventilated areas. Outside work may be performed in hot, cold, damp, poorly lighted and drafty conditions. Incumbent may be exposed to potential falls, cuts, scrapes, bruises abrasions and possible injury. Work performed in warehouse environment is subject to injuries from falling stock, handling materials, hazardous materials and mechanized equipment. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as gloves, hard hats, aprons, approved safety glasses and steel toe shoes.
