Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Strategy & Technical Assessment Manager 3 to be located in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL.
What You'll Get To Do:
The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineering Strategy (SES) & Technical Assessment (TA) Manager on the Sentinel Systems Engineering team. Sentinel is a complex weapon system that requires a sophisticated technical execution strategy to ensure successful development and ultimate fielding. This leadership role is key to ensuring top level SE strategies and associated measures are in place and monitored for the program to effectively execute its technical scope of work. In this role the SES & TA Manager oversees a core team while partnering with key stakeholders and customers across the program.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:
• Drive the establishment and maintenance of a viable systems engineering strategy for the Sentinel program
• Publication and maintenance of the program's technical strategy artifacts in collaboration with Northrop's internal and external customers and partners
• Facilitate the senior level Systems Engineering
• Councils and Working Groups to ensure Northrop and its customers are aligned and executing to the strategy
• Effectively partner with the program's senior technical leadership to ensure the establishment and execution of the technical strategy is comprehensive. This includes the Office of Chief Engineering and the Systems Engineering Integration and Test senior leadership across the program.
• Drive the technical assessment and metrics strategy for the program through the development and publication of processes, standards, and metrics.
• Effectively lead, develop, and mentor team members
• Proactively establish and maintain win-win relationships with partners and stakeholders across the Sentinel enterprise
• Manage budgets and schedules

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline and 8 years of related experience
• Minimum of 3 years in a formal lead/management position
• Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
• Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
• Experience in working with subcontractors and customers at all levels
• Experience in program reporting
• EVM experience on reporting and VARs with the ability to get certified
• Ability to travel up to 10%
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• ICBM experience
• Proven communication and leadership skills and experience leading small teams in a dynamic work environment
• Demonstrated ability to create trusted relationships with stakeholders
• Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production
• Experience with technical strategy development and facilitation across a vast organizational structure which includes a complex supplier network
• Experience with implementing and using model-based systems engineering tools, practices, and methods
Primary Level Salary Range: $161,500.00 - $267,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
